Another popular part of Lodmoor Country Park which is still there today is the Rio Grande model railway which circles the events area at Lodmoor and is open to visitors throughout the summer season.

South Street, now the town's pedestrianised main shopping street, has seen many changes. The old Central Hotel and Conservative Club became supermarkets and it used to have many private dwellings.
