Astronomers have upped the odds of an asteroid called 2024 YR4 striking Earth, albeit in 2032, but warn that it will most likely soon be downgraded, and miss Earth.

Nuclear missiles, the DART mission and space lasers have been floated as potential solutions to the YR4 asteroid.

YR is considered to be larger than the Chelyabinsk asteroid that struck Russia in 2013. Its shock wave was strong enough to injure 1,500 people.
