WASHINGTON — U.S. forces on Thursday participated in a second Iraqi-led raid this week on ISIS fighters as two American service members injured in the earlier attack are moved to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, a Pentagon spokeswoman said.

Two US service members were injured in Iraq in a joint US-Iraqi raid overnight that killed “multiple ISIS operatives,” according to a Defense Department spokesperson.

The raids, following earlier strikes in the area, targeted senior leaders of the terrorist group and took place in central Iraq. The two American service members were wounded while “assisting Iraqi forces with site exploitation” according to CENTCOM, which added that the troops were in “stable condition.”
