The San Francisco Giants got Justin Verlander back on Wednesday night after the right-hander was sidelined by right pectoral soreness. The 42-year-old Verlander was slated to start against Cleveland in his first big league outing in a month.

The San Francisco Giants officially announced Wednesday that they activated Verlander from the injured list after suffering a right pectoral strain. The team's starting catcher, Patrick Bailey, has also been reinstated following a brief stint on the injured list as well.
