A huge storm system crossing the U.S. threatens to unleash tornadoes Friday in the Mississippi Valley, blizzards in the northern Plains and dry, gusty conditions in Texas and Oklahoma that pose a high risk of wildfires.

Tornadoes, wildfires and blinding dust have swept across the central and southern U.S., with more severe weather forecast.

Several states throughout the U.S. were left with damages after deadly storms and tornadoes destroyed multiple homes and buildings.
