A judge on Friday set Erik and Lyle Menendez's resentencing hearing for next week after an evaluation considering the potential danger of their release showed a "moderate risk" of committing violence.

A judge has set dates for hearings to consider resentencing Erik and Lyle Menendez. Los Angles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman tried to again ask the court on Friday to withdraw the resentencing petition.

Erik and Lyle Menendez are seeking what could amount to the end of their life terms in the 1989 murders of their parents, though the district attorney is against that outcome.
