Per Deadline, Amazon has hired Doug Jung as the series’ showrunner. Jung joins writer Dan Casey on the project based on the best-selling Electronic Arts sci-fi video game franchise. Casey has reportedly been writing on the project for nearly a year.

Doug Jung is set to serve as showrunner on the “Mass Effect” TV series currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety has confirmed. Variety exclusively reported the show was in the works back in November.

Deadline reports that Amazon MGM Studios, which has been working on developing a "Mass Effect" series since 2021, has hired "Star Trek Beyond" writer Doug Jung as showrunner of the project.
