I adored The Substance and was one of those who gleefully watched it on the big screen, but I fully understand why people were too squeamish. Body horror can get pretty nasty, and this movie doesn't shy away from showing stuff in very graphic detail.

A streaming release date for The Substance has been announced. After premiering at the Cannes Film Festival this past May, The Substance was released in United States theaters in September 2024. The body horror film is written and directed by Coralie Fargeat and stars Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.
