Behind a stellar outing from left-hander Justin Lamkin and a three-run blast from shortstop Kaeden Kent, the Texas A&M baseball program secured a second consecutive victory at the SEC Tournament by defeating Auburn 3-2 in Hoover, Alabama, on Thursday afternoon.

Jace LaViolette's brave return wasn't enough to lift Texas A&M over LSU in the quarterfinals of the SEC baseball tournament. LaViolette, playing with a broken hand suffered on Thursday, drove in two runs but the Aggies came up just short in a 4-3 loss to LSU.

Texas will make its debut at the SEC Tournament on Thursday afternoon with a game against Tennessee that will begin at 3 p.m.
