Cincinnati Bengals Legend Boomer Esiason Shares Contract Projection for Trey Hendrickson as Training Camp Holdout Continues

The Cincinnati Bengals and first round pick Shemar Stewart have officially agreed on a contract after months of issues between the two parties. Now that his contract dispute is finally resolved, all the attention shifts to the 2024 NFL sack leader, Trey Hendrickson.

The Bengals star led the NFL in sacks in 2024. He wants a contract extension and has previously said he won't play in 2025 under the terms of the last year of his current deal.

CINCINNATI — Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson didn't report for training camp on Tuesday and was officially placed on the NFL's Reserve/Did Not Report list. The 30-year-old wants a new contract and is hoping that his absence is felt and leads to a contract extension in the near future.

As the Bengals and Trey Hendrickson continue to battle it out over a new contract, the Browns may dodge the bullet of playing him twice per year.

The Bengals are required to fine Hendrickson $50,000 for each day of camp he misses. In addition, any preseason or regular-season game he misses would result in $877,777 of salary lost, according to Spotrac.

The contract dispute between the Cincinnati Bengals and Trey Hendrickson took a wrong turn on Tuesday when the All-Pro edge rusher didn't report to training camp with the rest of the team's veteran players.

Cincinnati has a thin defensive end room to practice with in the meantime. Myles Murphy, Joseph Ossai and Cam Sample are leading the room to start training camp.
