Adventureland Park, the Altoona-based theme park, returns on May 6 with a new food stand, candy shop, updated safety policies and façade improvements.

Adventure Bay is the water park located within the grounds of Adventureland Resort. The water park opens May 27 at 11 a.m. Admission to Adventure Bay is included with Adventureland Park tickets.

Adventureland Resort will unveil two new intertwined attractions, Draken Falls and Flying Viking, on Saturday. Opening day celebrations will begin at 9:30 a.m. as Viking invaders take over the park.

The roller coaster, first installed in 1996, will return in time for the amusement park's 50th anniversary in 2024.
