The Mohicans are an Eastern Algonquin Native American tribe whose territory filled much of today's Hudson River Valley, stretching as far north as Vermont as as far south as the Atlantic Ocean.
According to the Algonquin Indians, there was a kingdom to the north, of blond men rich with gold and furs, in a place they called Saguenay. French explorers in Canada looked for this kingdom in vain.
