The Prince of Darkness will take the stage one final time this July, when Ozzy Osbourne, 76, will play a concert in his hometown of Birmingham, UK, reuniting all original members of Black Sabbath, the pioneering metal band he co-founded in 1968 and fronted throughout the ’70s.

One band that’s been notorious for this over the years was none other than Black Sabbath’s original lineup of Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, and Bill Ward. By my count they’d done a couple “final shows”, but this morning’s announcement of “The Final Show” in Birmingham, U.K. certainly feels like a terminus for the band.

“The all-star event will celebrate the true creators of heavy metal and will see @OzzyOsbourne play his own short set before joining with Black Sabbath for his final bow,” read the announcement, shared on Osbourne’s X account.
