Agri-Mark recalled 1,700 pounds of Cabot Creamery butter due to high levels of coliform. Coliform bacteria is usually an indicator of fecal contamination.
Cabot Creamery’s parent company, Agri-Mark, said it successfully pulled 99.5% of the contaminated butter off shelves before it was sold to customers.
The recall applies to Cabot's eight-ounce, sea-salted, extra creamy premium butter. The product has a best-by date of Sept. 9, 2025, and a lot code of 090925-055.
