Chris Wood will miss Nottingham Forest’s FA Cup quarterfinal against Brighton on Saturday because of a right hip injury while playing for New Zealand in World Cup qualifying this week.

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood has been ruled out of Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final against Brighton.The striker, who has scored 18 goals in 29 Premier League games this season, was forced off in the 53rd minute of New Zealand's 3-0 win over New Calendonia earlier this week with a suspected hip injury.

Chris Wood suffered a hip injury while playing for New Zealand on Monday, but reports suggest the ‘initial prognosis is fairly positive’ for the Nottingham Forest striker. The 33-year-old was playing for his country against New Caledonia in Auckland in a crucial World Cup qualifier.
