In many countries, Easter is still the day of days. But in America, we're all about Christmas -- divested, mostly, of its religious trappings.

Christians remember this act by giving each other presents at Christmas. Often the gifts are left under a Christmas tree in the home. Eastern Orthodox churches celebrate Christmas on 7 January.
