A 65-year-old domestic worker employed at the Borella residence of former Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva died following an accident involving an elevator at the property, Borella Police reported.

A notice issued by the Department of Public Works, dated Oct. 7, 2024, is posted near the elevator doors, advising visitors of the inability to use the moving platform, due to its “unsafe” nature.
