Casting for six major characters in HBO's upcoming 'Harry Potter' series, including Dumbledore, Snape and Hagrid have been announced.

John Lithgow, a six-time Emmy and two-time Tony Award winner, will star as Albus Dumbledore.Lithgow also is an Olivier winner and a BAFTA and Oscar nominee. Janet McTeer is cast as Minerva McGonagall.
