The five-mile 183A toll extension between Hero Way in Leander and SH 29 in Liberty Hill opened to traffic early Wednesday morning. Until now, 183A in this area had just been a frontage road.

The 5-mile section of the road will create a new way for drivers to travel from Liberty Hill to northwest Austin.

Now there are 16 miles of toll lanes between Liberty Hill and Northwest Austin, and once the 183 North Project wraps up next ...
