Wildfires have returned to the Carolinas, prompting another state of emergency, according to officials.

A total of 10 wildfires were burning in North Carolina at the same time, according to the state’s forest service. Officials reported on Thursday, March 27 that eight wildfires were active across six North Carolina counties.

More than 8 million people are under red flag warnings on Wednesday, as firefighters continue to fight wildfires in the Carolinas.
