The Rams and Stafford were able to restructure his contract to a two-year deal worth $84 million in March, after the team allowed Stafford's agent to shop him on the market to gauge his value. The 37-year-old is heading into his 17th NFL season, and his fifth with the Rams, whom he led to a Super Bowl title in 2022.
The Rams have two first-round picks that they could potentially use to move up to select Manning No. 1 in next year's draft.
Recently, Suh said on his Facebook page that Detroit should have paid him more than Stafford when he was up for his first contract extension. Stafford and Johnson signed lucrative extensions in the years leading up to Suh's first free agency, which left the Lions with a tough decision.
Heading into year nine, they look set to be in the picture again thanks to some excellent off-season moves. They also already have a strong roster, including a talented and experienced quarterback in Matthew Stafford.
