IndiGo is surely going ahead with its long-haul, low-cost ambition, and a Boeing 787 might just be the ideal aircraft for the carrier to dip its toes into this market.

India's top airline IndiGo said on Thursday it will damp lease a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner widebody aircraft from Norse Atlantic Airways as part of the airline's efforts to tap into long-haul routes.

IndiGo has placed a firm order for 30 Airbus A350-900s, with an option for 70 more, expected for delivery from 2027
