A Brazoria County Sheriff's Office deputy was shot and killed in southwest Houston on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025.
Officials said that the deputy, named Jesus “Jesse” Vargas, was from Brazoria County and was part of the U.S. Marshal’s Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
