CHICAGO – Less than a week after Hall of Fame head coach Doug Bruno stepped down for health reasons, the DePaul women’s basketball program named his successor—and it’s a familiar name to fans.

“Doug Bruno’s extraordinary impact on DePaul University and the game of women’s basketball is nothing short of legendary,” vice president/director of athletics DeWayne Peevy said.

Pizzotti, a native of Lombard, served as interim coach for the 2024-25 season while Bruno was out on medical leave. She has been on the DePaul coaching staff since the 2011-12 season.
