The Trump administration on Thursday opened a civil rights investigation into the hiring practices at George Mason University, expanding a national campaign against diversity policies to Virginia’s largest public university.

Just like the investigation at the University of Virginia, this one targets the school’s president, Gregory Washington. According to the complaint, he’s accused of favoring faculty candidates based on racial diversity. GMU said in a statement the university received a new Department of Education letter as it was released to news outlets.
