The search for Grant Gardner, the Minnesota hiker who went missing on Aug. 1 in Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains, has been suspended.

The sheriff called it a “heartbreaking and difficult decision” made in consultation with Grant Gardner’s family.

Search efforts for a Minnesota man who was last heard from in July have been suspended after 20 days as authorities say his “most optimistic survival odds have run out.”
