A man is dead after a shooting that took place during the early hours of New Year’s Day, according to the Greensboro Police Department. At around 1:13 a.m. on Wednesday, officers came to the 2600 block of Lawndale Drive after getting a report of a shooting.

Officers said on Thursday, just before 5 p.m., they responded to the 3800 block of Central Avenue after reports of a shooting.

When responding officers arrived, they said they found one person with a gunshot wound, suffering from "life-threatening injuries."
