U.S. President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, on Wednesday to proclaim that a deal with China was “done,” pending final approval from himself and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

A federal appeals court allowed Trump’s sweeping tariffs to remain in effect while reviewing whether he exceeded his authority under the emergency powers act, delaying a lower court’s ruling blocking the tariffs.
