Fresh off losing New York’s Democratic primary for mayor to Zohran Mamdani, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday ramped up his efforts to push the incumbent mayor, Eric Adams, out of the race.

Patterson dismissed the Democratic primary, in which Mamdani trounced former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, as "politics."

On the campaign trail, Mamdani galvanized voters with his pitches on how to rein in the city’s sky-high cost of living, from fare-free buses to a rent freeze on rent-stabilized apartments.
