After a nurse was severely attacked lat a Palm Beach County hospital, health care workers and their families came together Sunday to spotlight the urgent need for better workplace safety.

The attorneys for a man accused in the brutal attack of a Palm Beach County nurse said their client is a "hardworking, loving husband" who is affected by mental illness.

The beating broke 'essentially every bone' in the Palms West nurses face. The mental-health patient faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder.
