An Israeli attack on Iran damaged facilities at a secretive military base southeast of the Iranian capital that experts in the past have linked to Tehran’s onetime nuclear weapons program and at another base tied to its ballistic missile program.

An American researcher said an Israeli airstrike on Saturday hit a building that was part of Iran's defunct nuclear weapons development program, and he and another researcher said facilities used to mix solid fuel for missiles also were struck.

The IDF said in a statement that its strikes are “in response to months of continuous attacks from the regime in Iran against the State of Israel.”

Israel on Saturday morning said it concluded retaliatory strikes on Iran that lasted several hours and were focused on military targets.
