Israel’s Mossad spy chief and the CIA director have travelled to the Qatari capital, Doha, to attend the first high-level talks since ceasefire efforts aimed at ending the war in Gaza broke down in August.

U.S. and Israeli negotiators will travel to Doha in the coming days, the top diplomats for U.S. and Qatar said Thursday, intending to resume long-stalled ceasefire talks.

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken said U.S. and Qatari negotiators would soon restart long-stalled negotiations, but that it remained unclear if Hamas was willing to engage.

Police are treating the incident, which took place in a Tel Aviv suburb where the Mossad intelligence agency is based, as a terrorist attack.
