Ohio Sales Tax Holiday: What you need to know
CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Ohio’s annual sales tax holiday is expanded to a full two weeks this year and runs through Aug. 14. The annual event allows families to buy school supplies, clothes and almost all tangible personal property priced at $500 or less to be purchased without paying 5.75 percent state sales tax, plus the local sales tax.
The sales tax holidays typically lasted for two weeks. The sales tax holiday was generally scheduled near the start of the Atlantic hurricane season, around June 1.
