For the first time ever, Sky Harbor International Airport saw more than 50 million people come through its terminals as of December 2024.

Major sporting events like the NCAA men's Final Four and WNBA All-Star Games attracted many travelers to the Valley.

The 52.3 million passengers in 2024 represented a hefty increase of 7.5% from the 48.9 million passengers in 2023, which was the previous record.

Last year, over 52 million passengers came through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on their journeys, a Monday news release said.

2024 was the busiest year in Sky Harbor's history with 52,325,266 passengers coming through its terminals — both departing and arriving — throughout the year. They smashed through the 50 million passenger mark for the first time last December.
