Southeast Texas is under a tornado watch through 7 p.m. Friday. But the potential for severe weather is expected to continue through early next week. Jefferson, Hardin, Jasper, Orange and Newton counties were put under a tornado watch after noon Friday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said.
SHELBY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down east of Shelbyville on Friday. The NWS said the tornado had an estimated peak wind of 95 mph and a path length of 6.13 miles with a width of 472 yards. It touched down from about 1:48 p.m. to 2:03 p.m.
