The Trump administration is freezing $339 million in research grants to the University of California, Los Angeles, accusing the school of civil rights violations related to antisemitism, affirmative action and women’s sports, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The Trump administration cited alleged antisemitism at UCLA as a reason for suspending the funding. Years worth of research could be lost, one UCLA researcher said.

A State Department spokesperson said that the U.S. has given roughly $3 million to the Gaza food distribution program. Trump has claimed $60 million.

US President Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff has for the first time visited a controversial Israel- and US-backed aid distribution site in Gaza. Witkoff said the purpose of the trip to a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) site was to give Trump "a clear understanding of the humanitarian situation and help craft a plan to deliver food and medical aid to the people of Gaza".
